About Me

My husband Chris and I were married in 1987 after meeting while we were both in the United States Air Force. We have two grown children, Kirsten and Rhett. Chris is a captain at our local fire department and I am a teacher. Chris is a great guy. He is my best friend and my heart smiles every time I think of him. In 2012 he was diagnosed with end stage renal failure and our lives were forever changed. Since his diagnosis I am constantly amazed at the strength and dignity he shows. He has always been my hero and I am so grateful he is in my life.

Update: Wow has my life changed in the past year. Firstly, Chris received his new kidney via transplant on February 25, 2016. Our entire family is grateful to the woman who donated to him.

Secondly, in October of 2015 we became foster parents to one of my former students, Miney. She has been with us for over a year and a half now and will be with us until she is 18. She is such a joy and a very important part of our family. We are lucky to have her.

Update

I lost my husband Chris on March 25, 2019 after a valiant seven year battle with kidney and heart disease. I miss him each and every day.

Miney turned 18 in September. She is in her junior year of high school and is planning on joining the United States Air Force when she graduates. I am so proud of her.
